Simone Johnson, Dwayne Johnson’s daughter, is getting flak over her professional wrestling name ahead of her WWE debut.
On Twitter on Sunday, Simone, 20, changed her name to Ava Raine.
Some people were quick to criticise her, claiming that her WWE moniker should be linked to her father, who was formerly known as “The Rock” in the WWE.
A critic tweeted, “Giving Simone Johnson, the daughter of THE ROCK, a new name is utterly absurd.” “Will reserve judgement till she makes her debut, but it’s ludicrous if WWE doesn’t admit her father is The Rock.”

“I probably sound like a broken record & hopefully this is the last time I’ll discuss this,” Simone responded, “but I don’t see why people being portrayed as separate individuals from their family name is such a contentious matter.”
“A name doesn’t negate any of a family’s previous successes,” she continued.
“I could create my entire career around my father and people would still hate me anyhow,” Simone stated in a follow-up tweet.

Later, the WWE prospect stated that she is “not trying to disregard or discredit any of the sweet remarks” she has received.
Simone is getting ready to make her WWE debut. She was signed by the organisation in 2020, but due to a knee ailment, she has yet to compete.
The wrestler, who is 20 years old, is a fourth-generation wrestler. Her grandfather Rocky Johnson and great-grandfather Peter “High Chief” Maivia are both WWE Hall of Famers, and her father was a 10-time WWE world champion before going to acting.
In May 2020, Johnson spoke with Jimmy Fallon and gushed over Simone’s dedication.
