Bangladesh has formally received a proposal for another 10GBPS capacity IP transit bandwidth from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) through Agartola, India. A.K.M. Electronics & Information Technology of India, announced that the Indian government plans on doubling the currently existing 10 GBPS bandwidth from Bangladesh’s Cox’s Bazar to India. During an event in Imphal, Manipur, Vaishnaw stated that the decision to increase the bandwidth will help connectivity in Northeast India. confirmed that Bangladesh has received the proposal. “We already have a 10GBPS connection with India in Tripura. Decisions like these require ministry-level approval and come through operator channels,” he had said earlier. Regarding the process of approval, Rahman said, “After the approval from the Indian ministry, a counteroffer should be sent to us by DSNL.” According to him, decisions might be finalised within this month.
