In a new behind-the-scenes photograph from Fast X, Vin Diesel had some fun with Brie Larson. Following the financial success of F9: The Fast and Furious Saga, Dominic Toretto (Diesel) and the rest of the cast are poised to star in Fast X. The plot for Fast X, billed as the penultimate film in the primary Fast & Furious franchise, which debuted in 2001, is currently unknown, although franchise newcomer Jason Momoa has already been confirmed to play a villain.
Louis Letterier has taken over as director of Fast X following the abrupt departure of longtime Fast & Furious franchise director Justin Lin. Fast X will feature a number of new actors, including Larson, Alan Ritchson, Daniela Melchior, and Michael Rooker, in addition to returning cast members like Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Michelle Rodriguez, and Sung Kang. The plot of the film is currently unknown, but it has already been announced that Fast & Furious X will be the most costly Fast & Furious film to date, with a budget of $300 million, primarily due to the salaries of the cast.
Diesel shared a behind-the-scenes photo of himself and Larson, who look to be in their film costumes, in a touching new Instagram post. Diesel’s message accompanying the shot includes a heartfelt “thank you” to the Fast X cast and crew, as well as the franchise’s fans for their continued support.
Much about the upcoming Fast & Furious film is unclear, and Larson’s position in particular is a significant uncertainty for fans. Larson’s position in the film is unknown, but given her star power as Captain Marvel in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s safe to presume it’ll be more than a cameo. Diesel has already teased that Larson will have a key role in Fast X, so this isn’t the first time he’s shared a behind-the-scenes photo with her.

Diesel has previously shared videos of him interacting with Melchior, messing off with Momoa, and delivering a filming update with Ludacris. With Diesel delivering regular updates on the status of Fast X, fans may expect to see more from him in the coming weeks, possibly including a reveal of Larson’s role.
