93-year-old navy veteran saves older dog that was going to be euthanized

Meet Sam, a 13-year-old German shepherd who has lived a full happy life in a safe and loving home. Unfortunately, one day his human was deployed to the Navy and therefore had to surrender him to a shelter. He was heartbroken. Nobody wanted to adopt Sam as he was too old, he was too old and this meant that he could be put on the kill list to make some space for new dogs at the shelter. Until one day, came his saving grace in the form of a 93-year-old navy veteran called Geroge Johnson. George was looking to adopt a white German shepherd, just like Sam, since his previous one had recently passed away. The pair fell immediately in love, Sam is cute and friendly and is exactly what George was looking for. And that was it, George adopted Sam and took him home to ‘hopefully’ his forever home so they can both enjoy their old age together. George, thank you for rescuing Sam, and for your service. Here’s to many good years together!
